Overview:

  • ""This next generation of web conferencing software enables instant communication and collaboration through an easy-to-use, easy-to-access online URL.
  • Adobe® Acrobat® Connect™ is now available to ACC faculty for distance learning and classroom applications. Educators and students can communicate, collaborate, and interact no matter where they are.
  • A wide range of content, including Microsoft PowerPoint slides, live and recorded video, Adobe Flash® content, live screen sharing, application sharing, audio, and multiuser text chat can be shared through the Internet.
  • Adobe Flash Player software, already installed on more than 98% of Internet-enabled desktops, is all that is needed to access to live sessions with sound and video. More

Account Information:

  • If you already have an account, login here:  http://webconnect.austincc.edu
    • Note: Students do not need an account to view and participate in the virtual classroom.
      You will provide them a link to the webpage.
  • Current faculty may request an account from a campus computer. VPN software can also be used to access this link. VPN software can be obtained by contacting the ACC Helpdesk (3-4357). Put "Adobe Connect account "and the course name in description of your request.
    • Note: This tool is for virtual class meetings only or for distance learning courses. Accounts are not to be used for non-instructional purposes.

  • Need a microphone headset? Logitech has good products with good sound - $30-50.
  • Computer not working properly? Check that your system has the required updates above.
  • For help with other technical computer problems, faculty should contact the department computer technician.
  • Students should contact the instructor for problems using Adobe Connect.
