Troubleshooting Real Player Connection

The following instructions are on the assumption that RealPlayer 10.5 is installed.  If you need RealPlayer 10.5, then visit the Get the Media Player from the ACC streaming web site.

NOTE: Problems have been reported with the viewing of ACC Real Media files with the version of RealPlayer v. 11. Some older content is not compatible with this version. If you are having problems viewing Real Media video files using this player, please download and install Real Alternative.

STEP 1

To ensure that the Bandwidth Connection is set properly for RealPlayer, follow these steps.

  1. Start RealPlayer. From the menu bar choose Tools > Preferences.  Under Category choose Connection > Test Connection. (Preferences Screen Shot)

  2. The Turbo Connection Test screen will appear.  Click Perform Test. (Connection Test Screen Shot)

  3. When the Perform Test is complete the Connection Test Results screen will appear.  Click Update to adjust your bandwidth connection for RealPlayer.  Once you have updated your settings, click Cancel to close the Connection Test Results screen.  Then click OK.   4. Try playing the video again.  If there is no change, proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2

  1. Start RealPlayer. From the menu bar choose Tools > Preferences.  Under Category choose Connection > Network Transports. (Preferences Screen Shot)

  2. Enable Manually configure connections settings by checking the box. Now click RTSP Settings. (RTSP Settings Screen Shot)

  3. On the RTSP Transports Settings screen, disable (uncheck) Attempt to use UDP for all content then click OK.

  4. Click OK again and close RealPlayer.

  5. Try playing the video again.
