Updated: October 16, 2006

Note: Windows Media Player 11 (Beta) has not been testing at ACC. It is recommended to install Windows Media Player 9 or 10 depending on your operating system.

  1. Visit the Windows Media Download Center web site.  Download the Windows Media Player for your operating system.

  2. Click the “Download Now” button for the Windows Media Player you want to download.

  3. A “File Download – Security Warning” message appears.  Click Run.

  4. The Windows Media Player setup file starts to download. An “Internet Explorer – Security Warning” message appears.  Click Run.

  5. The Windows Media Player Setup window appears asking you to review the Supplement End User License Agreement.  Click Accept.

Note: If you do not accept the agreement and cancel the installation, Windows Media Player will not install on the computer and may not be able to play Windows Media files.

  6. The Welcome to Windows Media Player message appears.  Click Next.

  7. The Select Your Privacy Options window appears.  Click Next.

  8. The Customize the Installation Options window appears.  Under the File Type use the default settings.  Under the More Options, select “Add a shortcut to the Desktop.”  Click Finish.

  9. Windows Media Player is now installed.
