Senior Systems Administrator

Melanie began working at the college in 1991 as a Computer Support Technician in the non-credit areas. She was hired by what was then LRS in January 1999. She designed and implemented the Windows networking infrastructure which is the basis of IRT Network Services today.

Melanie has a background in computer networking, computer programming, electronics and engineering.


Systems Administrator (Blackboard)

Seth began working at ACC as a part-time library assistant in 1997 while attending classes. He joined Network Services a few years later as a Computer Support Technician before assuming the role of Blackboard Administrator in July 2000.

Seth’s background includes programming and database administration.

He recently attained his private pilot license.

Jen began working with ACC as an IT Manager in November of 2001 and was hired as a Systems Administrator in Network Services in March of 2005. Jen’s background includes a B.S. degree in Geology and M.ED. in Instructional Design.

Jen is currently pursuing a PHD in Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Texas at Austin.

Maria began working at ACC in 2008 as a Systems Administrator for Streaming and Web services.  Maria’s background includes an AA in Computer Science, a BS in Architecture, and various software and technology certifications.  Prior to coming to ACC, Maria worked at corporations such as EDS, UGS PLM, GM, and Siemens as Applied Analyst, Deployment Specialist, and Courseware Developer. 

Maria is in charge of the redesign and standardization of IRT Web sites.  She also provides server side support to Streaming Media Developers and Contribute users.


Senior Computer Lab Support Technician

Chris began working at ACC in 1995 as a part-time hourly Lab assistant for what was then the LRS, and as a part-time Programming Lab assistant for the CIS department. He was later promoted to a Computer Support Technician, and eventually into the role of Senior Computer Lab Support Technician.

Chris does all the base images for the public computers in IRT and for some time has been assisting with basic Active Directory tasks. In 2008 he joined Network Services and will continue to create and maintain images, while working closely with Network Services to ensure the best configurations for both our users, and the domain.

Chuck graduated from the University of Texas with degrees in English and Psychology. After college he worked for UT, both in the General Library system as well as at UT’s TRECS (Technology Resources for Employee and Campus Services) as a LAN Administrator. He has also ran his own freelance web design and photography business and has done contract work as a Network Specialist at the Texas Department of State Health Services. Chuck joined ACC’s HBC IRT department in October 2008.
