Do you want to - help your students get connected?  Create fun collaborative learning projects? Help your students develop collections of learning objects to facilitate learning? Encourage your students to communicate effectively in and out of the classroom?

Then, be sure you attend the sixth annual Teaching and Technology Trends Symposium at the Highland Business Center, April 4, 2008.  The upcoming event will feature twelve hands-on workshops based on the EDUCAUSE Learning Initiative's (ELI's) 7 Things You Should Know About... series that provides concise information on emerging learning technologies and related practices.

Organized around four tracks the sessions include:

  • Connections - Student Response Systems (Clickers), Podcasting, Blogs/Vlogs
  • Collaborations - Wikis, Virtual Meetings, Virtual Worlds
  • Collections - Mapping Mashups, You Tube, Social Bookmarking
  • Communications - Instant Messaging, Skype, Social Networking

This event will address the training and professional needs of faculty and help ACC meet the goals of the strategic focus for the SACS self-study -- "Infusing 21st Innovation into Learning: A Student-Centered Examination of New Technologies, and Institutional Structures." (See SACS reports).

Each session will provide participants with concrete ways to employ the information, resources, tools, and skills learned to their job in the academic year. Faculty and staff will be able to obtain credit towards their training objectives, development plans, or to include in their portfolio.

Use the navigation menu at the top of this page to obtain more information about session descriptions, schedule of events, and registration details.

We look forward to seeing you on April 4th!
