I am an instructional design specialist at the South Austin Campus of Austin Community College. I have been in the instructional technology and design field for over twelve years with strong experience in distance education as an instructional designer. I have developed many online and offline (multimedia) courses collaboratively with faculty in my work at Central Texas College. I have extensive experience in developing and delivering training for online faculty in the use of Blackboard and other related technologies. I am currently teaching Web Authoring as an online adjunct faculty member and have been doing so for six years.
I received my masters in Instructional Technology from the University of Houston at Clear Lake, and received my undergraduate degree in secondary education from the University of Texas in Austin. My interests are in the intersection of technology and education. My focus has always been this question: How do students learn best? To me, this is the leading question that should drive our work in instructional design and technology.
My other interests include watching movies, reading and writing sci-fi and other speculative fiction.
