WorkKeys
The WorkKeys system, developed by ACT, is a process that provides a criteria referenced metric for well defined skill sets. The system consists of three components: Occupational/Job Profiles, Assessment, and Training. The WorkKeys profile area of the system is used in the ACAP process to determine skill levels in Reading for Information, Applied Mathematics and Locating Information (use of material presented in graphic formats such as tables, charts, maps, instrument gauges, etc.) required to successfully enter an occupation. These skill levels can be used to determine the underlying, academic skill levels needed in a program area. WorkKeys assessments can be used in the program to determine students' levels of skills entering and exiting the program. The assessments can be used to identify and address the individual instructional needs of the student as well as determine how to incorporate academic training in other program areas.
