Formatting Master Syllabi

Master Syllabi should be available for viewing by students and the general public and also be available in a form which is convenient for faculty members to download and edit in order to construct their individual course syllabi.

Sending Master Syllabi to Administrative Assistants to post on the web.

Each Dean's office has an Administrative Assistant who will be able to take Word documents and put them into an appropriate form and then post them on the web.

If your department's syllabi are in some different format, and if it is not convenient to convert them to Word, discuss that with the designated Administrative Assistant in your area. She/he will get help as needed to determine the best strategy for making them available.

As a general rule, it is advisable to ask the Administrative Assistant to just do one or two of the course documents for a department and have everyone check to be sure that the process is working well before sending all of the documents. This is particularly true if the documents are in some other format besides Word.
