Pop-up blocking software should be configured to allow pop-ups from Blackboard.

*Please note: The AOL browser is NOT supported by Blackboard

ATTENTION Vista Users: Microsoft's Windows Vista is not compatible with Blackboard's Visual Text Editor. This will prevent you from seeing a text box editor that is required for many of Blackboard's features.

To use the default editor, click the Personal Information link from the My ACC tab within Blackboard. Next, select the "Set Visual Text Box Editor Options" link and set the editor to "Unavailable." The change will take effect after your restart your browser.

Technology requirements for navigating Blackboard are as follows:

A live Internet connection. For minimum acceptable performance, Blackboard recommends at least a 56K modem connection, although Blackboard can be accessed with slower connections.
A monitor capable of at least 800x600 resolution. For best performance, access Blackboard at 1024x768 resolution or higher. Blackboard can be accessed at lower resolutions (such as 640x480) although scroll bars may interfere with the interface at low resolutions.
As a web-based application, Blackboard itself has no minimum hardware requirements for your computer. You should refer to the minimum hardware requirements for your browser.

* AOL Users
To access Blackboard with an alternate browser, follow the steps below:

Connect to AOL as you normally would
Minimize the AOL browser window
Next, launch a supported browser such as Internet Explorer
Connect to Blackboard at http://acconline.austincc.edu
