Frequently asked Questions regarding Blackboard Downtime
I backed up a copy of my gradebook on Friday, May 9th, how do I restore this gradebook to Blackboard?
Gradebooks can be uploaded via the Control Panel > Gradebook> Upload Gradebook option Detailed Instructions:
What do I do if I did not back up my gradebook on Friday May 9th?
The Blackboard database server has stored all entries made to your course gradebook before 2 am on Tuesday May 6th. Entries made after that time will need to be manually re-entered on your part.
How do I obtain copies of test scores and assignments that were lost?
This can be done by asking students to resubmit assignments or to retake a test in the testing center.
Will I get extra time to get my grades ready?
Yes! The deadline for final grade submission has been extended until Sunday May 18th at Midnight.
What if my students need to retake a test?
The Testing Centers will extend their hours this week. Details on the extended hours are now available..
Be sure to reset the end date on your Respondus secure assessments.
Who can I contact if I need help or have additional questions?
For assistance using Blackboard, you can contact an ID Specialist at your campus.
Other concerns should be directed to your department chair.
Will this affect recent edits I made on my Summer classes? Unfortunately, edits made between 2am on Tuesday May 6th and Friday May 9th have been lost.
What steps are being taken to prevent this problem from re-occurring?
Redundant database servers are being installed and improved processes for backing-up transaction logs are being implemented.
